Zomvivor (2025) – Thai Zombie Survival Series Review
Genre: Thriller, Horror, Youth
Episodes: 7
Streaming on: Netflix
Zomvivor (2025) is a Thai survival series that goes beyond zombies and action. And one thing I want to say clearly — this is not a BL series. Many fans might expect it because it’s produced by Mandee Works and Domundi TV, but Zomvivor is pure survival. Still, you’ll enjoy it for sure, especially because the entire cast is full of our favourite actors.
Zomvivor takes place in a university where a sudden zombie outbreak puts a group of students in danger. The cause of the outbreak is a virus, but the real reason behind how it starts is actually very interesting. The series has a serious and emotional tone, and it focuses more on the students and their feelings than just zombie fights. The zombies in this show also look and behave a bit differently from the usual ones. Some events may remind you of All of Us Are Dead because a few scenes feel similar, but Zomvivor still has its own story and style. If you watch it without comparing, it can be a really good experience.

Characters and Acting
Ning (Janis) : Janis is one of the central character of the show since all this chaos starts with her family. She nailed her role as Ning, and it was so emotional to see how much she cares for her brother even when she herself is hurting. I still don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t like her character.
Jean (Tommy) : This is one of the main reasons you shouldn’t skip non-BL series—you get to see your favorite actors in versatile roles. In Zomvivor, his character is so likable because he gives off that selfless, main-character energy. He’s not like the typical male leads who always pick fights when they are in trouble.
Ning (Nunew) : As expected, he completely nailed his role as Non. Honestly, I expected nothing less—everyone knows how talented he is. Non-BL fans might find his bratty attitude and refusal to listen to his sister a bit annoying, but it fits the character perfectly.
San (Zee) : Even though Zee is our favourite, his character San can get on your nerves at times. As Ning’s boyfriend, he was selfish, argumentative, and constantly picking fights — but that also makes the tension more interesting.
Phu (Boss) : The most beloved and only truly sane character in the show, Phu is sensible and level-headed. I honestly don’t know how the team would survive without him. Logical, intelligent, and quick to handle any situation, he never lets emotions take control. He’s the type of character who probably gets zero haters.
Viroj (Weir Sukollawat Kanarot) & Kanjana (Pock Piyathida Mittiraroch) : One of the main duos in the series. They were actually behind all this mess — but not in an antagonist way. Kanjana was incredibly intelligent, yet she still failed in the end. And Viroj honestly resembles Lee Byeong-chan from All of Us Are Dead. Still, both of their performances were outstanding.
Science Team
They are science kids… but in a dumb way. What they were doing made no sense — they were doing everything except being useful, except Jean and Phu. They are even more insane than the zombies, with so much drama.
Jimmy (Pao): I think everyone dislikes Pao. He acted like he was the only one suffering, even though he was struggling with mental illness. Why he got traumatized by everyone dying in front of him and caused many characters to die is beyond me.

Max (Thorn): Less annoying compared to the others. At least he didn’t do anything reckless.
Yim (Thi): I don’t know whether to laugh or pity him. I mean, I understand your obsession with zombies, but not in a situation like this! Everyone was fighting for their lives and he was getting excited.
Nink (Lily): She was supportive and not selfish. I liked her.
Pang (Fah): Annoying since episode 1. She reminded me of Nayeon from All of Us Are Dead . Running around with a ringing phone?? The whole time I was like Girl, drop the damn phone.
Dream (Muk): Many people may dislike her because she’s the reason many of our favorite characters got killed. I don’t know how everyone allowed her to stay with the team after all the trouble she caused.
Praew (Prao): She would have been a badass character if she didn’t gaslight others to create drama. She was brave, but also had a talent for making situations worse than before.

PE Gang
Net (Earth): Net, the actor you are!!! His acting is top-notch; he doesn’t even need many dialogues. One of the finest characters in the series, he had such an aura every time he was on screen. Watching Earth listen to Yim’s zombie obsession was so funny. What he did to the science kids was truly valid, and at least he didn’t overreact.
Boun (Korn): Another cool member of the PE gang, he was so sassy, and I loved his character. It’s so sad we didn’t get to see enough of him.
Mark (Ek): Such a badass character, yet so dependable. Thanks to him, many of the others were saved. It was so frustrating that such a potential character didn’t get enough screentime. He made the right decision by dealing with the main problem (Pao).
Park (Gus): The only mistake he made was trying to save others, and he definitely should have thrown away that damn axe.
Cheerleading Team
Here comes everyone’s favourite squad — the cheerleading team. They were like a small break in a stressful exam, giving us relief when everything else felt heavy. Glad that Night (Nat) and Kawin (Tutor) joined them.
Everyone in the team — Nokia (James), Chi (Namping), Phat (Keng), Night (Nat), Kawin (Tutor), Game (Poppy), Toto (Tonnam) — was calm. They were funny and warm at the same time, while the other teams were stressing us out. Nat’s character was so smart, and I laughed so hard when I saw Master dancing.
Chemistry
Even though the story doesn’t mainly focus on love, the little moments between some characters still felt warm and meaningful. Jean and Ning had a quiet, steady chemistry — they weren’t a couple, but Jean stood by her like someone who cared more than he admitted. And honestly, the way he connected with Pao also said a lot without needing words.
San and Ning shared a different kind of chemistry, something soft but strong. At first, I thought San protected Non just because he was Ning’s brother, but later it felt deeper… almost like San’s heart was in the right place even when his actions weren’t.
Kawin and Night had a calm, comforting chemistry too.
Emotional depth
Even with all the chaos, Zomvivor has a surprising amount of emotional moments. The bond between Ning and Non, San and Ning, and the way each character handles fear and loss adds so much weight to the story.
And the ending deserves a special mention — it’s an open ending, but a very emotional one. It leaves you worried, hopeful, and curious all at the same time.
Themes
Zomvivor is also a zombie series which revolves around survival and every charecter reacts differently when their life is at risk. Like some of the charecters like phu and jean are logical and dependable in such situations, but there are also others who make it worse , and others are it cool without worrying too much.
Like other zombie series here are also characters who end up sacrificing themselves to save others. But it was sad to watch them saying escape others even when themselves were about to loss their life.
Human Nature: Zomvivor shows both the good and bad sides of humans. Some become brave, some turn selfish, and some completely break down when the pressure becomes too much, and the is also characters who get excited for this. It's not just about being cool and so much actions.
Friendship: Friendship is one of the strongest parts of the show. Even when the situation gets worse, some characters stick together and support each other till the end, like how jean and phu didn't let try to abandon when they misunderstood pao's scratch in the hand and also the way gawin don't want to abandon lilly
Loss: The series has a lot of painful losses. Losing friends and watching them turn into zombies adds a heavy emotional layer to the story. I really felt bad for the people who took the serum .
Morality: Zomvivor keeps questioning what is “right” or “wrong” in a life-or-death situation. Sometimes the characters make harsh decisions, and even if we don’t agree, we understand why they did it. No one really stopped ning when she was about to inject the affected blood on herself and I don't think it is because of hate more like everyone knew it is the only way to escape
What I Loved!
Realistic Reactions : One thing I love about zombie series is how they show realistic reactions—because at the end of the day, everyone is human. In Zomvivor, the characters behave in believable ways, especially during chaos and fear. No one can act all cool and heroic in front of death like in action movies. Even the bravest ones freeze, and the series portrays that perfectly.
High Tension : Almost every episode in Zomvivor keeps you anxious and fully attentive because the series is 100% thrilling. The zombies here are different from what we usually imagine—you’ll understand when you watch it. This fresh portrayal adds a lot of tension and makes the whole story feel unpredictable. I really loved this feature.
Good OST : The background music adds so much to the emotional, goosebump-worthy, and intense moments. It fits the scenes beautifully.
Heavy Atmosphere : The show maintains a dark, gripping tone throughout. There isn’t even a single comedy scene, and that helps the series build a consistently intense atmosphere. It suits the story perfectly.
What could be better
Flashbacks Felt Distracting at Times : The flashback scenes were meaningful, but sometimes they appeared in between intense moments and slightly broke the flow. Instead of adding to the tension, a few of them interrupted the pace, making the scene feel less impactful.
Certain side characters needed more depth : The casting was perfect, but many characters didn’t get the depth they deserved. Even though Pao caused a lot of trouble, I really wished to know more about his past. And Pe’s gang had so much potential, but they barely got enough screen time. If there’s a Season 2, I hope these characters get the spotlight they truly deserve.
Personal Opinion
How it made me feel : Overall, it was so thrilling to watch Zomvivor, and I really loved this series. The biggest reason is the casting and the genre(zombie). It’s always fun to see our favourite actors in a completely different angle. And honestly, I couldn’t bring myself to fully hate any character, no matter what they did.
Scenes that stayed in my mind : Almost every scene with Net was so cool, and it was great to see ZeeNew together in a zombie series as a duo. And I don’t know if everyone noticed, but the book Non was reading in Episode 2 is Naruto manga volume 47 — the one with Minato Namikaze (the GOAT) and Kurama on the cover. That small detail actually made me smile.
Why it’s worth watching : If you love thrilling zombie stories, Zomvivor is totally your cup of tea. The cause of the zombie outbreak is really interesting, and even though a few moments may remind you of All of Us Are Dead, the overall story feels unique and different in its own way.
